The youngest manager of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar announced his squad list amid high expectations in Argentina and the world. Lionel Scaloni was hoping to be very close to the deadline for announcing the chosen few, including 19 players who will make their World Cup debuts.
Led by Lionel Messi, the Albiceleste side can count on Paulo Dybala, who has recovered from an injury and has been training with his team-mates in Rome. This situation, combined with Giovani Lo Celso’s unfortunate absence, meant that the manager needed a few extra days to make his decision public.
At the discretion of national team and Roma doctors, Dybala is already recovered and possibly in Qatar. On the other hand, Juan Foyth and Joaquín Correa are the last two names to enter the call with just enough room.
Those left out are Ángel Correa and Facundo Medina, who have had chances to join this group until the last few days.
