The culmination of one of the most embarrassing days off the court in the recent history of the Louisville men's basketball program was one of the most embarrassing on-court appearances in the recent history of the Louisville men's basketball program.
Both statements do some work.
Louisville showed no fight, no swagger and played no defense en route to a 75-63 home loss to a 3-7 Arkansas State team that was picked to finish ninth in the Sun Belt before the season began.
The Red Wolves' victory over a power conference opponent was their first since defeating Mississippi State in 2014. Arkansas State was previously beaten by Wisconsin, Iowa and Alabama by a combined 67 points.
It's over. When will this be official? Maybe tonight. Maybe next week. Maybe not until three months. But it's over.
