The Colombian forward arrived as a brand new reinforcement from Deportivo Pereira this season and has become one of the team’s figures.
For the 2023 season, Alliance of Lima renewed his squad and decided not to renew the Colombian winger Arley Rodriguez, which was important in the blue and white team’s scheme to achieve the two-time national championship. With this in mind, the coffee farmer decided to continue his football career in his country and signed for the Deportivo Pereira of the first division, a club that was champions of the 2022 Clausura.
The 29-year-old has earned a place in Wolves’ starting XI and has become one of their guiding figures. The gunner is now used as a center forward by his trainer Alejandro Restrepo and has already scored two goals in the first two appointments. Rodríguez even scored the goal in the Red-Reds’ win over Atlético Huila on the final day of the game.
Recall that during his tenure with the Blue and Whites, the San Andrés-born man usually played as a winger to exploit his speed and power on the wings.
The numbers of Arley Rodríguez in Alianza Lima
Arley Rodriguez came to Alliance of Lima in 2021 by Carlos A Mannucci. In total, the Colombian attacker played 2,584 minutes in 62 competitive games for the Blue and Whites, in which he scored eight goals and provided eight assists. Additionally, he achieved two national titles with the intimate group in 2021 and 2022.
Previously, the coffee farmer defended the jerseys of Atlético Nacional, Independiente de Santa Fe, Alianza Petrolera, Envigado FC and Lobos BUAP from Mexico.
