A 16-year-old teenager was the victim of an armed attack on Thursday afternoon in front of a primary school in Anjou, east of the metropolis. The young man was reportedly injured by a projectile fired from an air pistol.
Police officers dispatched to the scene initially thought they would respond to an attempted murder with a firearm, but checks conducted indicated that the weapon used was likely an air pistol and not a handgun.

The event took place around 1 p.m. in front of a primary school on rue Chénier.
The victim was walking on the sidewalk when her attacker yelled at her. The latter fired his gun, hitting the teenager in the thigh.
The young man was taken to the hospital to treat an injury that was relatively minor under the circumstances.
The suspect fled before police arrived. He was still wanted in the afternoon.

A large security perimeter was set up in front of Chénier’s primary school. The investigators will try to clarify the circumstances of the crime.
