A man was stabbed in the lower body early Saturday afternoon in a residential building in the Saint-Michel district.
The attack happened around 12:45 p.m. at an apartment on Pie-IX Street, near 40th Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they quickly located the victim outside. She was conscious and injured her lower body, said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokeswoman for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The man was taken to a hospital to have his injuries treated. At this time, his health status is still unknown.
“The police carried out checks in the accommodation and in the building to locate the suspect, but the latter fled before they arrived,” Ms Chèvrefils said.
The crime scene was protected so that investigators could shed light on the matter.
