Armie Hammer’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, is hosting a series about toxic relationships

Armie Hammer’s ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers is set to host her own series on “toxic and traumatic” relationships following her own explosive split from the disgraced actor.

The 40-year-old TV personality filed for divorce from Hammer, 36, in July 2020 after ten years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences months before Hammer was accused by multiple women of sexual assault and violent kink fantasies involving cannibalism.

Chambers has now signed a development deal with Investigation Discovery — with their first true crime show “exploring the complexities of toxic and traumatic relationships.”

Chambers will host and co-execute the series, which “features interviews and first-hand accounts from survivors that shed light on long-held mysteries, generational trauma and deep-seated psychological issues,” reports the network.

The series “also aims to allow victims to take control of their own narratives.

Jason Sarlanis, President of Turner Networks, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming, said, “We are huge admirers of Elizabeth and know this new series will resonate with our passionate true crime audience.

“Elizabeth brings a unique empathy to elevating the voices of victims, which fits perfectly with ID’s mission to use its platform to share powerful stories of hope, resilience and survival.

The Discovery+ documentary House of Hammer – which documented abuse allegations against Hammer and his reported cannibalism fetish – aired last year in which Chambers was not involved.

Speaking of the moment she knew her marriage to Hammer was over, Chambers revealed that he had left her heart “broken into nine million pieces.”

Speaking frankly to ELLE magazine about the breakdown in her marriage, Elizabeth revealed cracks had been showing for months, with the actor’s behavior during lockdown proving to be the final straw.

The couple were on vacation with their children Harper, seven, and Ford, five, when Covid cases began to rise across the States and decided not to return to Los Angeles, instead staying in the Cayman Islands with Armie’s father and stepmother to quarantine.

But their already strained marriage began to crumble even faster, and Elizabeth described Armie as “the worst” during the quarantine.

For his part, Armie described the time as a “very complicated, intense situation where big personalities are all cooped up in a small, tiny place,” and likens it to a wolf “caught in a snare” and “chewing its own foot ‘ want out.’

Despite her struggles, Elizabeth was caught off guard when her husband decided to leave the family and return to California, where he helped a friend restore an old motel outside of Joshua Tree National Park.

“My heart was broken into nine million pieces and I still drove him to the airport,” she confessed.

She added, “Marriage is always going to be difficult, and like any relationship, you go through a process. Especially when you throw success and fame into the mix; it just gets bigger…

‘[Over time] Your partner is learning things about themselves,” she says. “They grow, you grow; you hope that you will grow together.’

Ultimately, they had drifted too far apart for their relationship to work.

While trying to get back together, Elizabeth sought solace from the marriage counselor she had seen with Armie, famed psychotherapist and relationship specialist Esther Perel.

‘[Esther] I’ve always said heartbreak is literally worse than heroin addiction and I think about it often,” she confessed.

Elizabeth is now dating wellness specialist Ricardas Kazinec, 26.

While the couple is “so in love,” Elizabeth revealed that if the kids ever see us together, they’ll have to “act completely platonic, because I don’t think it’s in their best interest to see how their mother is with anyone.” going out while they are still processing divorce.’

Although it’s been three years since she filed for divorce, the couple are still legally divorced, and Elizabeth admits it feels like she’s “tearing up” her family.

She explained: “The breakup of my family was literally my biggest fear of my entire life. you’re building something, right? You are weaving a beautiful tapestry and the last thing you want is for a knife to come and rip the tapestry in two.”

Elizabeth’s grief only increased when a series of sordid revelations about Armie’s sex life were made public, including that he had cannibalistic fetishes.

“I learned things like publicity,” Elizabeth revealed. “I thought, ‘There are no words. What the hell?’

Armie has since broken his silence to insist that while he was an “a**hole” and emotionally abused younger women “a million percent,” he is not a criminal.

He also claimed he was molested by a pastor when he was 13 and attempted suicide in the Cayman Islands after being accused of rape.

The disgraced The Social Network star has not been heard from and rarely seen since a woman named Effie, 26, accused him of “violently raping” her in 2021. This led to a series of accusations from women regarding his interest in kinky sex and even cannibalism.

He has denied the allegations through his lawyer, saying all of his sexual encounters were “entirely consensual, discussed and agreed in advance and mutually involved”.

The LAPD opened an investigation and Armie was never charged, but the allegations proved disastrous for his career and he was subsequently dropped by talent agency WME as well as his personal publicist.

He was replaced by Josh Duhamel in Jennifer Lopez’s new rom-com Shotgun Wedding, and Miles Teller reprized his role in the TV series The Offer, which dramatizes the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic film The Godfather.

Although he was removed from those productions, Armie had already completed filming on the Kenneth Branagh-directed mystery Death On The Nile, which also had an ensemble cast of Branagh, Gal Gadot, Annette Benning, Russell Brand and Rose Leslie, among others.

Viewers mocked a trailer for the film after it appeared to go out of its way to minimize the actor’s participation – though his brief appearances were still too much for many viewers.

Armie was also sued by American Express over an unpaid $67,000 credit card bill, but the case was dropped earlier this month.
