Arnold Schwarzenegger He confirmed last week that he will not be returning to the ‘Terminator’ saga that made him so popular in the 1980s and 1990s. The clarification was necessary as James Cameron, director of the major parts of the saga – the first two – had recently announced that he was working on a new script to revitalize the ailing franchise.

The former California governor made it very clear that this period of his life is over, especially after the box office failure and horrific reviews that ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ received in 2019. The adventure reunited the Austrian interpreter with Linda Hamilton, the actress who brought the mythical Sarah Connor to life in Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1992).

However, this reunion failed to straighten the course of a saga that had drifted along for the past 17 years. “The sequels were very poorly written. The saga isn’t over yet, but I am,” he told The Hollywood Reporter after specifying that the third film, Rise of the Machines (2003), also appeared “great”. “Big ideas are needed… These films have made me successful for the most part, so I will watch the next ones with great affection,” he concluded.

At 75, the Hollywood star needs a change of scenery and is cultivating his passion for acting with completely different projects. His new series, Fubar, will premiere on Netflix this Thursday, May 25, and is followed by a three-part documentary titled Arnold, in which he will give an in-depth look back at his life.

Likewise, the former politician does not rule out following in the footsteps of his son-in-law Chris Pratt, who is married to his daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger, in the Marvel Factory superhero universe. “If the role fits!” he qualified in an interview with Men’s Health. If an offer is accepted, the proposal must do justice to the third part of Guardians of the Galaxy, in which Pratt did an extraordinary job in the eyes of his father-in-law. “It’s the perfect combination of comedy and action, non-stop. You did it Chris I loved it and I’m so proud of you,” he wrote on Twitter.
