A man caught red-handed in a supermarket in the Montcalm neighborhood was arrested by Quebec City Police (SPVQ) last night on charges of burglary and making threats.

At around 10:30 p.m., the 33-year-old suspect entered the back of the store before being caught mid-flight by an employee. The latter tried to intervene, but the criminal threatened, which chilled his enthusiasm.
Luckily, police arrived at the scene quickly to apprehend the thief, who authorities said appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
The suspect, who drove to the scene of the crime, was also arrested for obstructing driving during a driving ban.
During the search related to the person’s arrest, certain objects found could link him to other thefts that have recently taken place in the Sainte-Foy area. A reason for the concealment was also added in light of the discovery of these articles.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to appear in the next few hours.
