The fleeing vehicle met the police officer around 3:15 p.m. on Rue Saint-Zotique Est near the roundabout while he was standing near his car, SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant reported. The officer then shot the suspect vehicle at least once.

Police were at the scene after being called to intervene following an attempted vehicle theft in the Galeries d’Anjou car park.

The SPVM investigation led to the arrest of four men, three 18-year-olds and one 17-year-old, on Langelier Boulevard, near Villanelle Street, who were taken to the investigation center where they are expected in the coming hours.

Three scenes were created: the first on rue Saint-Zotique, where the policeman was caught, the second in the Galeries d’Anjou car park and the last in the shopping center car park on Boulevard Langelier, where the vehicle was parked.

At least one bullet hole was found on the suspect vehicle.

The investigation was transferred to the SPVM’s Serious Crimes Unit and investigators were dispatched to the scene to investigate the causes and circumstances of the incident. A command post was also set up on Saint-Zotique Street.
