“It’s not as dramatic as some say,” argued the Prime Minister on 98.5 radio on Wednesday morning.

The head of the CAQ, who will travel to Rouyn-Noranda at the end of the day to support his local candidate, reiterates that the fate of the Horne Foundry rests in the hands of local citizens.

“The company says we cannot go down to three nanograms (per cubic meter of arsenic) in the short term. Technically it’s not feasible what I’m saying, there are 600 direct jobs in Rouyn-Noranda for $100,000 a year, it’s up to the citizens of Rouyn-Noranda to decide.

According to the outgoing prime minister, it is certainly not Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois’ job to make the decision for the citizens.

Remember that the riding of Rouyn-Noranda-Témiscamingue is currently represented by the solidarity Émilise Lessard-Therrien.
