Firefighters asked Montreal Police for help for a fire that broke out at a store on the Trans-Canada Highway near Edmond Street just after 2 a.m.
When the police arrived at the scene, the fire brigade had already brought the flames under control, but located an incendiary object inside the store, which caused minor property damage.
The investigation was transferred to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) Arson Division to try to determine the circumstances of this incident.
At the moment, no arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation, which is still ongoing, SPVM spokeswoman Jeanne Drouin said.
This is the third fire to be registered in 4 hours after fires were reported at a residential and commercial building in Ahuntsic and another at a residential building in Pierrefonds.
