Like many of its competitors, Microsoft has increased its announcements around AI and generative AI in particular since the beginning of the year. Its new computers, traditionally presented in September during the Surface event, put AI in the spotlight, in particular Copilot “your everyday companion”, which will be delivered as part of the 22H2 update of Windows 11 planned for tomorrow.
As announced at Build 2023 last July, Microsoft Copilot will be integrated into many of the company’s applications.
Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President and Director of Consumer Marketing at Microsoft, says in his blog:
“It will be a simple and seamless experience, available in Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and in our web browser with Edge and Bing. It works as an app or shows up with a right click if necessary. Over time, we will continue to add Copilot features and connections to our most used apps to deliver on our vision of providing an experience that works for a lifetime.”
Microsoft calls the upcoming Windows 11 update “one of our most ambitious yet,” announcing more than 150 new features and AI-driven experiences for apps like Paint, Photos, Clipchamp and more. For more information, see the video below.
New AI features for Bing and Edge
Microsoft has unveiled new artificial intelligence features for its Bing search engine and Edge browser.
Bing Chat provides more personalized responses based on the user’s search history. It can help them find products online with Microsoft Shopping and create personalized images with Bing Image Creator.
The latter will integrate OpenAI’s latest DALL-E 3 model to ensure better quality and precision of the images produced. According to Microsoft:
“DALL. E 3 offers a big step forward with more beautiful designs and better representation of details such as fingers and eyes. It also better understands what you’re asking, resulting in more accurate images.”
An invisible digital watermark is added to all AI-generated images in Bing as well as Paint and Microsoft Designer. This latest application, now based on DALL-E 3, integrates with Microsoft Edge to allow users to create visual graphics (social media posts, invitations, digital postcards, charts, etc.) without leaving their feeds or the website , which they are on, to have to leave.
Updates to Bing Chat Enterprise
On July 18, Microsoft introduced Bing Chat Enterprise and launched it in preview to more than 160 million people. It’s now available in the Microsoft Edge mobile app and supports multimodal visual search and image creator.
Microsoft 365 Copilot, announced last March, will be available to businesses on November 1 and will integrate Microsoft 365 Chat, which was introduced the same day under the name Business Chat.
This application helps collect data from documents, presentations, emails, calendars, notes and contacts to summarize chats, write emails, find important appointments or even create a plan based on other files. Project. Preview customers can access it via Microsoft Teams.
Now Preview customers can access it from Microsoft365.com, Teams, or Bing when signed in with their work account.
