The character Waylon Smithers, also known as Mr. Smithers in The Simpsons, is one of the main characters of the animated series. He made his debut in Homer’s Odyssey.

He works alongside Mr. Burns as a personal assistant at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. While his loyalty and devotion are remarkable, Waylon is underappreciated and underestimated. Smithers worked at the mill until his death.

The character was inspired by some of the executives at FOX himself. The bossemployee relationship has always been humorous on the show, and while he tries to curry favor with Burns, Waylon gets more work in return.

The comedy series created by Matt Groening tells the story of a family living in Springfield, a fictional town in an unknown US state.

The father works in the nuclear power plant while the mother takes care of the children. The family consists of Lisa, Maggie and Bart, each with a unique personality that makes the story even funnier.
