Artists led a march for Middle East peace in France

Paris, November 19 (Prensa Latina) Artists and cultural figures in France led a silent march for peace between Palestinians and Israelis in this capital today, an event they considered apolitical.

Behind a white banner with no inscriptions, thousands of people walked through the streets of the capital on a symbolic journey between the Institute for the Arab World and the Museum of Art and History of Judaism.

The mobilization, which followed a call signed by more than 500 personalities, included, among others, the actress Isabelle Adjani, the former Minister of Culture Jack Lang, the singer-songwriter Maxime Le Forestier and the writer Marek Halter.

Names such as Adjani herself, Juliette Binoche, Marion Cotillard, Elsa Zylberstein, Laure Calamy, Sami Bouajila, Pierre Richard and Claude Lelouch supported the initiative of the collective “Une autre voix” founded by actress Lubna Azabal.

The call was to demand “an immediate end to the fratricidal war between Palestinians and Israelis.”

Several of the protesters wore white clothing and gathered without political demands or slogans.

For more than 40 days, the world has witnessed crimes and massacres of civilians in the Middle East, a tragedy that leaves few indifferent. The greatest damage was suffered by the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, one of the most densely populated areas on the planet.

On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel, which reported 1,200 deaths and triggered a wave of indiscriminate bombings and a total blockade against Gaza, which is reported to have suffered at least 12,000 deaths and the destruction of its northern part, including hospitals, schools and buildings .
