A 14yearold teenager managed to prevent an outofcontrol bus full of children from crashing into a gas station in Australia.
To Australia’s ABC News: Izzy Miller reported that he noticed the bus had no one in the driver’s seat and was approaching the gas station and Liberty convenience store in Casino, New South Wales.

“I looked to talk to my friend, turned around for about two seconds and the bus started moving,” he said. “And there was no one behind the wheel. He approached the gas tank and no one did anything, so I jumped up, acted and fled.”

She noted that her thoughts were with the children on board. “If I hadn’t done something about it, something really bad could have happened to the children.”

To save her, Izzy jumped into the driver’s seat and stepped on one of the pedals to check if it was the brake. “And then I was like, ‘Okay, it stopped and I pressed again and [o ônibus] It really stopped.”

Surveillance camera footage showed the bus crossing a twolane highway and heading straight to the gas station and convenience store.
Izzy appeared to be hanging from the back window before entering the vehicle. Other people ran after the bus, which was carrying about 20 students, and managed to steer the vehicle away from the gas pumps, causing it to stop.

Erin Witton, owner of the gas station, praised Izzy’s quick action and said it happened right when a man was filling up his car. “If this bus had achieved that [tanque]In the worst case scenario it would have exploded,” he said.

Erin presented Izzy with a certificate of appreciation and a reward in recognition of her bravery. “The entire team at North Casino Mini Mart is in debt and so grateful for this beautiful young lady,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
