Asher Keddie begins production on new comedy-drama Strife as she prepares for her long-awaited return to television screens
Asher Keddie has begun production on her new comedy-drama Strife, based on Mia Freedman’s memoir.
The Offspring star, 48, is set to play the lead role of Evelyn Jones in the new binge series.
She confirmed in October that she will be making her long-awaited return to Australian television by starring in the drama.
The actress said she’s thrilled to be returning to her Australian television roots, having appeared in several high-profile Hollywood productions.
“I’ve been waiting for a good four years to return to series television. I knew it was as soon as the script was brought to me,” she told The Daily Telegraph at the time.

The seven-time Logie award winner said she was won over by the authenticity of the script and knew she had to sign.
“What drew me to it is that it’s about not being the perfect person that we grew up thinking we had to be,” she said.
The mother-of-two added what she loves most about the script is the “authenticity of the storytelling.”
Filmmaker Bruna Papandrea, who was behind Nicole Kidman’s Amazon Prime Video streaming hit Nine Perfect Strangers, will produce the show.

While Asher has been on TV screens for over 35 years, she finally got her big Hollywood break last year in the Amazon series Nine Perfect Strangers.
Asher stars in the drama alongside Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Luke Evans.
The acclaimed actress has been acting since she was 11 and made her debut in the western television series Five Mile Creek, which also co-stars with Kidman.
She later starred in several Australian television series and films, but received widespread acclaim for her roles on the critically acclaimed shows Love My Way and Offspring.
