Ashton Cozart 4 star receiver makes signing from Oklahoma to Oregon

Ashton Cozart, 4-star receiver, makes signing from Oklahoma to Oregon Ducks

Oregon added an upside-down blue-chip prospect from Oklahoma to its 2023 recruiting class.

Ashton Cozart, a four-star recipient who visited UO this weekend, announced his involvement with the Ducks On Sunday. He had been committed to the Sooners since February 4.

“First and foremost, nothing I have accomplished would be possible without God and all that He has blessed me with,” Cozart wrote on his social media. “I want to thank the University of Oklahoma for the opportunity to play at the next level and the fans for the love and support. My recruiting experience has taught me so much and after a long discussion with my family and mentors I made the decision to go in a different direction.

“The most important factors in my decision are development, culture and the relationships I have with the university. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest for most of my life and have dreamed of playing there since I was a child. With that, I’m resigning from my commitment to the University of Oregon. Sco ducks.”

The 6-foot-1, 181-pound Cozart had 36 catches in 680 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior at Marcus High (Tex.).

The No. 32 player in Texas, No. 12 receiver and No. 164 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite, Cozart is the fifth player to sign for Oregon’s class, including the second receiver. He joins Jurion Dickey, cornerback Cole Martin, defensive tackle Tevita Pome’e and running back Dante Dowdell in a group ranked 21st overall on the 247Sports Composite and in the top 10 on average per commit.
