Aster: An incursion of astronomy through time – CIMT-CHAU

The Organization for Scientific Interpretation based in Saint-Louis-du-Ha!Ha! offers a range of workshops, activities and eight conferences aimed at a family clientele of all ages, covering topics ranging from the possible ends of the world, various historical aviation topics to the future space station that will eventually orbit the moon, deal with . Without forgetting a topic that raises several questions, namely the colonization of Mars.

“We have stones and minerals, it’s not just fascinating for children. There are some that take their stones to identify them, this is an event, it works very well, if we address several topics like this, like Mars, the colonization of Mars, it is possible and up to that, where that cannot be,” explains Marc-André Paradis, astronomer at Aster.

In the museum there is a place that is especially popular with young people. That of a futuristic spaceship equipped ten years ago for learning and discovering astronomy. It is thus possible to simulate a flight in the cockpit of the built rocket using an image provided by NASA. In addition, people can relive events from the past through the planetarium, but also by simulating a boat like the ancient navigators, guided by the stars. For a visit it is possible to book at the Astermuseum or on its website.

“Anyone who has a bit of that curiosity, we know there are some things in life that people want, they want to be a police officer, they want to be an independent firefighter when you’re smaller, those who want to be an astronaut gone, when they get here they go to the station, they have fun, they have fun with it,” concludes Stéphane Madore, General Manager at Aster BSL.
