AstroMIL, the traditional astronomy festival organized every year by the Trottier Institute for Exoplanet Research at the University of Montreal in collaboration with numerous partners, returns to the MIL campus on Saturday, October 14th. The event is free and open to everyone and takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the theme of “Solar Winking.”

This year, the holiday coincides with the partial solar eclipse on October 14th. Thanks to the solar filters provided on site, the public can observe the phenomenon live and in complete safety. This partial solar eclipse will also be an opportunity to prepare for the total solar eclipse on April 8th.

On the program: kiosks, conferences, activities for the whole family, photo exhibition, competitions and stargazing, weather permitting. Visitors can pick up their eclipse viewing goggles from the University of Montreal to enjoy the astronomical spectacle of 2024.

The AstroMIL awaits all those curious about astronomy. Further details can be found on the event website.
