Asuka Responds To Criticism Of New WWE Women’s Title Belt Design

Asuka laughs in the ring

During this past episode of “WWE SmackDown,” General Manager Adam Pearce presented Asuka with the new WWE Women’s Championship belt, which in turn replaced the “Raw” Women’s Championship belt that Asuka had held since she won it from Bianca Belair at Night of Champions had.

The new title drew some fan criticism due to its similarity to other WWE Championships and its overall look. On Saturday afternoon, “The Empress of Tomorrow” responded to this criticism via twitterand points out that people who don’t like it have a “poor fashion sense”.

“I would love to see the fashion sense of the person who thinks my belt design is awful. If she has bad fashion sense I despise her,” she wrote.

While Asuka is dealing with some criticism, she also has to deal with a future match against Charlotte Flair. During the “title ceremony”, Flair returned after not participating in the promotion for two months and challenged Asuka to a future shot at the title, which Asuka eventually accepted.

Flair’s last in-ring appearance resulted in her losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Judgment Days Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. Since then, Ripley has successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Title at Night of Champions against Zelina Vega, Dana Brooke and Natalya.

Asuka also answered WWE tweet that asked the fans for their own thoughts on the new championship. She wrote that the “belt design” was cool and that she “liked it a lot.”
