At least 14 people were injured after a bus crashed into a restaurant in Long Beach, California.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to calls about the accident at Boujie Crab Restaurant around 3:17 p.m. Thursday, KTLA reported.

Fire officials said five people were taken to hospital in unknown condition and nine people suffered minor injuries.

Pictures show a smashed silver car between the damaged building and the public transport bus.

It is unclear what happened at the time of the accident, but the front end of the bus is completely destroyed.

Fire officials responded to the accident Thursday afternoon. It is unclear how the collision occurred

Long Beach police said South Street was closed between Myrtle Avenue and Lewis Avenue while they investigated the crash.

According to the restaurant’s Instagram account, the eatery is closed on Thursdays.
