At least 18 Mexican tourists died and about 25 others were injured in a bus accident in northwestern Mexico on Saturday night, a local official told AFP on Sunday.
“There was an accident involving a private company bus transporting tourists from Guadalajara, Jalisco state (west) to Guayabitos,” in Nayarit state, a tourist destination known for its Pacific beaches, reported Pedro Nunez, the local fire chief .
An investigation has been launched to determine the reasons why the bus crashed into a ravine and to identify the victims, all “national tourists”, he said.
