Another day in the violence of the United States. At least six people have died in a shooting in Tate County, far northwest Mississippi, by an arrested suspect, according to local media reports. A seventh victim was injured but his life is not in danger.

The events took place around 12:30 p.m. local time in the town of Arkabutla, as confirmed by County Sheriff Brad Lance, who said the man entered a store and killed a person with his gun, according to local media. He later went to a private home where he shot and killed a woman. The suspect continued his tragic mission at a second home in the area, where he murdered two other people. The macabre account later added two more victims.

Minutes later, police identified the suspect’s car. The agents then began a chase to catch up with him. Finally they stopped him.

Lance indicated that the suspect resides in the area where the massacre took place. His identity has not been released. Arkabutla has a population of about 300 and is located about 75 kilometers south of Memphis, Tennessee. It is located near the lake of the same name.

The latest episode of gun violence in the United States comes four days after three people were killed in a shooting at Michigan State University.. Five other people were injured. The suspect committed suicide while police tried to chase him.

To be considered a mass shooting, a shooting must involve at least four people, not including the attacker, and they must not be members of the same family. It is also taken into account that it takes place in a public place. According to the Gun Violence Archive organization, there have been 75 mass shootings so far this year. The account comes to 1.6 per day. This week alone there were six in places like Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Luisville.
