According to Ukrainian sources, at least two people were killed and more than 20 wounded in another Russian night attack on the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Odessa.
Interior Minister Igor Klymenko today reported the death of a second man, previously responsible regional governor Oleg Kiper had already reported the death of a civilian.
Zelenskyy: “Retribution is certain”
According to reports from Kiev, the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa was destroyed in the attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this morning in various online networks that “retaliation against Russian terrorists” will be taken for his actions in Odessa.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia fired a total of 19 rockets of different types in Odessa on Sunday night. This includes Oniks cruise missiles and Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the sea – as well as Iskander ballistic missiles. Nine of the missiles managed to intercept the air defenses.
According to Governor Kiper, the night attack caused material damage to “civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and religious facilities”. It is a “war crime that will never be forgotten and forgiven”. The old town of the Ukrainian port city of Odessa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
