A 14-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly trying to cover up the murders of both his parents in California last Wednesday.
The boy initially called the police himself to report an attack on his father, mother and little sister that had been carried out by “intruders” who then allegedly fled in their vehicle.
The parents, both 37, were killed on Wednesday evening, but the boy's little sister barely survived the attack. She was rushed to the hospital where she was saved by the surgical team.
Later, investigators noticed inconsistencies in the teenager's story, which led to the belief that he could be the perpetrator of these murders.
His name has not been released due to his age.
The boy allegedly made up the intruders' story to hide the fact that he himself had attacked his family with “multiple weapons,” Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni said at a news conference Friday.
The young suspect is currently in a juvenile detention center awaiting trial on two counts of murder, CNN reported.
