Havana, June 9th (RHC) Representatives of several countries attended the IX. Summit of the Americas, held in Los Angeles, California, denounced the economic, trade and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States.

Mexico’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, pointed out that it is incredible that at this point, even during the pandemic, we continue to see blockades, embargoes and sanctions against American countries that contradict international law.

At the event, the Mexican diplomat condemned the exclusion of member countries from the continent, which he saw as a serious strategic mistake.

Likewise, Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina disapproved of the unilateral actions of some nations in the region, which do not help create better development spaces and relations between peoples.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, also issued a statement highlighting Cuba’s humanity and calling on the Organization of American States (OAS) community to demand an end to the blockade against the government and people of our island .

Numerous governments in the region have criticized this arbitrary decision and defended the participation of all on equal terms.
