After confirming itself as the number one prime-time leader a week ago, “The Best Years” is back, the Carlo Conti-hosted variety show created by Rai Prime Time Entertainment management in collaboration with Endemol Shine Italy, and released on September 1st Friday 12 May at 9:25 p.m. will be broadcast on Rai 1, live from the “Fabrizio Frizzi” television studios.
This week, in the show’s exclusive “Hit Parade”, Marco Masini will comment and sing his most popular songs and those most voted by viewers, while Alessia Marcuzzi will be the protagonist in the “My List” interviews, who will talk about moments of her life through his favorite songs.
International guests include 10CC, an English band that climbed the world charts with an unconventional ballad like “I’m not in love” and simultaneously released albums in the 70s that went down in rock history (“The Original Soundtrack” and “How Dare You!” in particular); Matt Bianco, with ’80s hits like “Whose Side Are You On?” and “More Than I Can Take”; and the American Anita Ward with her famous “Ring my bell”, which still gets half the world dancing to this day.
There will be many more moments to hear hits from the heyday (both Italian and international) with the live interpretation of the original singers. Also Ivana Spagna and Gazebo, protagonists of Italian dance, will alternate on the double stage of the program with two hits like “Easy Lady” and “I like Chopin”. The singer-songwriter Massimo Di Cataldo will propose his famous “Se ora te ne vai”; other guests the collages (“You steal my soul”); Stefano Sani (“Lisa”); Riccardo Azzurri (“Love You”); Rosanna Fratello (“I’m a woman, I’m not a saint”) and Alberto Camerini, who will sing “Rock ‘n’ Roll Robot”, and finally Sandro Giacobbe (“Your Mother’s Eyes”, one of his hits); while Gianmarco Carroccia will interpret great successes from Lucio Battisti’s repertoire.
The comedians Andrea Pucci and Barbara Foria will be “commentators of the time”. The musical performances are accompanied by the live orchestra conducted by Maestro Pinuccio Pirazzoli and the choreography of the CHOIR by Fabrizio Mainini, with costumes by Simonetta Innocenti recreating the atmospheres of the different decades.
Thanks to social media, viewers actively participate in the course of the show: with the “Noi che”, short messages with the most vivid memories of “their” best years; with her musical guest chart preferences; and finally with the sending of materials, writings, photos and videos linked to her past that can be shared with everyone, while Flora Canto acts as a link between the “social” world and the program, reading live news and comments from the public.
