During his speech at the highest meeting of Celac leaders in Argentina, Búcaro called for “transforming multipolarism into genuine multilateralism in order to create transcending spaces”.
He also thanked the South American country’s work in the pro tempore presidency of the regional mechanism and called on its members to work together for the benefit of political, economic, social and cultural integration.
The Head of External Relations took the opportunity to highlight that Guatemala is trying to address the root causes of migration and welcomed the fact that Celac is committed to promoting safe, orderly, regular and optional migration.
Likewise, the head of Guatemalan diplomacy expressed his commitment to finding solutions to the crisis in Haiti.
Finally, he invited those present to participate in the IX. Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States based in Guatemala on May 12.
Since arriving in Argentina, Búcaro has developed a comprehensive bilateral agenda, including with colleagues from Bolivia, Barbados, Haiti and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
In addition, he held meetings with secretaries of the General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System, the Caribbean Community and the Association of Caribbean States, according to reports published in this capital on the social networks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
