Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan (photo)reiterated this Thursday the 26th that his country is not at war against the Palestinians but against Hamas.
During the extraordinary United Nations General Assembly, the diplomat said that the terrorist group had a single goal: “to destroy Israel.”
“Unfortunately, this emergency meeting has nothing to do with peace. All members of the United Nations are sure that we do not want another round of conflict in the Middle East, no further dispute between Israelis and Palestinians. All of this has to stop. The October 7 massacre and its aftermath have nothing to do with the Palestinians,” he said.
“This is not a war against the Palestinians. Israel is at war against Hamas, a terrorist, jihadist and genocidal organization. The democracy of Israel’s rule of law is directed against today’s Nazis,” he added. “Hamas does not care about the Palestinian people. Hamas has a single goal: to destroy Israel and murder every Jew on planet Earth.”
In his speech, the Israeli ambassador also criticized the resolution being discussed at the UN, which calls for an immediate ceasefire by Israel.
“Israel has been and continues to be attacked by Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north. Meanwhile, this resolution calls for an immediate ceasefire. Ceasefire means giving Hamas time to replenish its ammunition so it can attack again“, he explained.
“Hamas is the terrorist group that started this war and was not even mentioned. This resolution is an insult to the intelligence community and the only place it belongs is in the dustbin of history.”
“If this organization wishes to retain even a shred of legitimacy, I implore you to stop allowing this farce to continue. Vote against this biased resolution and stay on the right side of history.”
Erdan also said that Israel was on a rescue mission that could end at any time as long as Hamas laid down its weapons and returned all hostages.
“This war could end without another shot. Why don’t you come together and ask Hamas to do this?“, asked he.
The Israeli ambassador assured that Israel will not rest “until Hamas is eliminated and the hostages are brought home.”
