Atlanta Braves News: Calm after the storm, season review, more – Battery Power

After a flurry of moves leading up to the non-tender deadline across the league, but particularly in Atlanta, things have gone quiet again in the offseason. Thanksgiving is typically quiet, but the days surrounding it could provide some movement as the market picks up. The Braves now have a ton of space on the 40-man roster after sorting out a number of fringe roster options. Obviously they won’t be signing a handful of big free agents, so some of these spots are likely to be on the fringe and may be more likely to be filled with less lengthy negotiations. However, it might make sense to fill those spots with players who may have fallen through the cracks in the market but may not be willing to sign at a bargain price so early in the offseason. Either way, given the clear need for a quality starter, a hole in left field, and plenty of open roster spots, this could be a fun, or at least interesting, offseason.
