ATP Tennis: An Injury From Too Much Sex For This Pro Player?

The Italian public is very disappointed with the absence of local player Matteo Berrettini, who has a stomach injury, from the tennis tournament in Rome, and some have put forward a fairly clear hypothesis about his problems.

The competition, which runs until May 21 in Rome, would have allowed yellow ball fans to embolden the 21st player in the world, except that he needs to heal his wounds; He was also unable to play his round of 16 match against Holger Rune in Monte Carlo a few weeks ago due to a torn oblique muscle. However, his girlfriend, model and TV presenter Melissa Satta had to respond to the gossip.

“People were implying that Matteo got hurt because we made too much love,” she told Vanity Fair magazine. It’s just a pity that it’s an injury in the same place as in 2021, when I didn’t know him yet.

In a relationship with the 27-year-old athlete, Satta says he has been the victim of bullying and sexism since the beginning of their relationship. What’s more, it’s probably not a first on the matter, as she mentioned experiencing a similar mishap while living with her ex-husband, German soccer player Kevin Prince Boateng.

“Once he suffered from pubalgia [une lésion chronique à l’aine]. Again I was accused of having too much sex and that was the cause of the problems, she clarified. Do I really have to answer these people?”

“This proves that sexism has always existed and is very real,” she added. Women are men’s distraction, some say. Then when a woman loses, we talk about what she’s consuming and not a man she’s dating.

Unpleasant

While Berrettini responded to critics by telling Style Magazine that these allegations “are tantamount to saying that a journalist writes less good articles because he has a wife and children,” Satta felt the need to make a speech, to protect his reputation.

“It started months ago when our story was published in January. They said: “Berrettini does not win because there is Satta who changes his mind and it is too demanding,” she explained, presenting an example of an offensive comment. But I held back because I’m not a person who denounces everything on social networks. I have a head on my shoulders.”

“A newspaper headline: ‘Melissa Satta brings bad luck’ after Matteo’s last game in Monte Carlo, which he won before the injury. How can you write something like that? It’s not ethical, it legitimizes my hatred.”

That’s enough

Satta also admitted that the case had taken on excessive proportions. “I received a lot of insulting, intimidating and sexist messages. After I decided to be a public figure, I agreed to show myself on social media, but I’m trying to maintain a romantic relationship with someone else and I just want to be happy,” she recalled .

“Sometimes I’m too thin or too fat. I’m newly made or poorly dressed. Apart from the fact that I love myself so much and I don’t let such comments affect me. If, on the other hand, you enter my private sphere, the alarm goes off. I’ve spoken about my life many times in interviews and on social media, but this is where the line was crossed.”
