Palestinian authorities accuse Israel of shooting young people with live ammunition.
The main street in the city of Tulkarm was destroyed. In Nablus, Israeli soldiers blew up the house of a suspected assassin who was killed in May 2023.
Israeli security forces carried out the biggest attack in years in Ramallah, in the West Bank they occupy. According to Palestinian information, a 16-year-old boy was killed during the operation in the Palestinian administrative capital on Monday night. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers entered Ramallah with dozens of military vehicles. The autonomous authority led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has its headquarters.
The Israeli military could not immediately be reached for comment on Monday. The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli soldiers killed 16-year-old Mustafa Abu Shalbak during searches of the Am'ari refugee camp. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, clashes broke out when Israeli soldiers invaded the camp. They shot young Palestinians with live ammunition. Abu Shalbak was hit in the chest and neck.

Violence in the West Bank is increasing
Since the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip began in early October, tensions and violence have also increased in the West Bank, the other Palestinian territory governed by Abbas's moderate Fatah. Since then, at least 400 Palestinians have been killed in clashes with Israeli soldiers and settlers. Israeli security forces regularly act against Palestinians in the territory that has been occupied since 1967.
Witnesses said Israeli forces also destroyed a main road in the West Bank town of Tulkarm during the attack. Wafa also reported that soldiers entered the city of Nablus. They blew up the house of a man Israel blamed for the April attack in the West Bank that killed a woman and her two daughters. Moaz al-Masri, guilty of this attack, was killed by Israeli soldiers in Nablus in May.
During the operation, the Israeli military arrested at least 55 Palestinians across the West Bank, according to a Palestinian prisoner advocacy group. (APA/dpa)
