For the first time in several weeks, Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. A rocket was fired and intercepted this morning, the head of the city’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, said on Telegram.

“After a long pause of 52 days, the enemy again began rocket attacks against Kiev.” Kiev residents were asked to go to shelters. There were no injuries or major damage. In the capital region, five private houses and several commercial buildings were damaged, Kyiv Oblast Governor Ruslan Kravchenko said. Two rockets hit a field between two cities.
There were new attacks overnight in southern and eastern Ukraine. 19 of 31 Shahed drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defense, Odessa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper said. Three people were injured. There was also damage to port infrastructure.
