Quebec police are actively searching for a suspect who allegedly planned the kidnapping of a person with the help of three other accomplices.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) investigation began on March 27 with the arrest of four people in the Beauport sector.
The latter in particular had compressed air weapons, a bulletproof jacket, an electric shock weapon (Taser), brass knuckles and burglary tools.
“The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects were about to kidnap a victim and that they had planned this kidnapping a few days before,” explains SPVQ spokesperson Sandra Dion.
Armed with an arrest warrant, investigators proceeded on Thursday to arrest Mathieu Boivin, a 26-year-old man who was released on a promise to appear. Marc-Alexandre Ouellet (24), who was also arrested, appeared during the day.
