Austin Majors, of “NYPD Blue”, dies in the USA at the age of 27

Austin Majors, known for his participation in the series NYPD Blue (or New York Against Crime), passed away this Saturday (11) at the age of 27. According to TMZ, the boy was in a facility for the homeless in Los Angeles, United States. His family mourned him on social media.

Sources close to the case said there was no suspicion of a crime. However, Austin is believed to have ingested a lethal amount of fentanyl. The drug is considered one of the most powerful opioids, has 100 times the potency of morphine and has been responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths in the United States in recent years. An autopsy would be completed this Monday (13), but the results of toxicology tests should be released in the coming months.

In a statement, Majors’ family mourned his death. “He was a kind, artistic, bright and kind person. Austin was very happy and proud of his acting career. He was an active, awardwinning Boy Scout and finished second in high school. He graduated from the USC School of Motion Picture Arts with a passion for directing and music production,” they said.

“Austin’s younger sister Kali says her fondest memories of Austin are growing up on set and volunteering at events organized by the NGO Kids with a Cause. [Crianças com uma Causa], and hike together. Austin was the kind of son, brother, grandson and nephew we can all be proud of and he will be missed dearly.”

Kali also expressed her regrets on social media, sharing a series of photos with the young man. “My older brother Austin is dead. He died last night. It’s still so surreal to me. He was only 27 and had so much to live,” she wrote on Instagram.
