Australia: Taekwondo teacher allegedly strangled his seven-year-old student before killing both parents

A 7-year-old child who had just earned his black belt in taekwondo was strangled by his teacher barely an hour after the ceremony that marked his promotion.

The boy and his mother Min Cho, 41, were allegedly killed by Kwang Kyung Yoo on February 19 at his martial arts studio in the Parramatta district of Sydney, Australia.

The instructor faces three murder charges after authorities linked him to the killing of Ms. Cho's husband, Steven.

Police say Mr Yoo, 49, allegedly killed the mother and child at his studio after the belt ceremony.

He then allegedly drove Ms. Cho's car to her house and stabbed her husband.

After the murder, Yoo allegedly took a shower before stealing Steven Cho's clothes. He then went to his house.

The suspect's wife was reportedly horrified by his injuries and convinced him to go to the hospital. The police arrested him at the hospital center. He will be back in court in April.

Ms. Cho's family traveled from Korea to organize the family's funeral, which will take place next week.
