Australian whiskey guru David Prior is listing a Melbourne mansion for a staggering $50 million
Famous Australian entrepreneur David Prior has put his magnificent Victorian home up for sale for the eye-watering price range of $46 million to $50 million.
Built in 1929, the mansion is located in the prestigious Melbourne suburb of Toorak, which has some of the most expensive real estate in the country, and has five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Designed in the Mediterranean Georgian Revival style, the two-story historic building last sold in 2014 for $23 million, the Herald Sun reported.
Prior, who founded the organic yoghurt brand Five:am and currently owns the Scottish Bladnoch distillery, has made numerous upgrades to the magnificent property.
It features expansive sculptural grounds, a tennis court, pool and spa.

The house is a beautiful mix of modern chic and classic style and is reminiscent of a Mediterranean “palazzo” with its white facade and impressive arches.
The mansion, called Karum, retains much of its period opulence and features open fireplaces, coffered ceilings and wooden floors.
The expansive, open floor plan on the ground floor includes an informal dining area that opens to an “entertaining” terrace.
The adjacent oversized kitchen features marble countertops and a breakfast bench.
Additional highlights include a master bedroom with a marble bathroom, walk-in closet and dressing room.
There are also several living rooms, a formal dining room, a study and a classic “living room”.
According to the report, Prior is sold out due to business commitments abroad and there are high expectations for a promising sale.

Toorak, just 7km from the CBD, is one of Melbourne’s most famous and wealthiest postcodes.
Last year, crypto entrepreneur E Craven bought a nearby mansion for $80 million.
Another grand home on St. Georges Road, the neighborhood’s “Millionaire’s Row,” went under the hammer in 2022 for $74.5 million.
This came after Prior bought the Bladnoch distillery in 2015, which was bankrupt and had not produced whiskey for several years after selling his organic yogurt business Five:am for $80 million.
