The “Good morning you” comes to an end, but you seem to have identified yourself very much. What do you highlight most about the program? I realized a lot! “Bom Dia Você” was more than a variety show. When I was there alone, I turned it into a program about love, inclusion and acceptance. I took it easy and full of optimism.
With this project, did you have the feeling of being accepted by the public? And the team?
The audience gave a nice response. I felt it in the messages I received during the live, on social media, on the street and most importantly in the audience. We picked up the Dash program daily and kept increasing the ratings. The team stepped in, hugged me and protected me. There I formed a “dream team” and mastered numerous challenges.
What will you miss the most? This exchange with the public, the daily contact with my makeup artist Kaky, with my beloved team… But it took as long as it had to take there. And my verb will resonate even more forcefully elsewhere.
Is there one episode that has impressed you the most so far? Look, I think we’ve made a strategic revolution there. And I have to point out that ‘Rede TV!’ never censored me. We took several black specialists without touching on the fact that they are black. They were specialists like dermatologists, scientists, influencers, teachers and showed that it is normal for us to occupy these spaces. We talk about medicinal cannabis, demystifying several taboos on the subject. We took the first gay couple to produce twins with the same genetic material… All this at breakfast time, with ease, naturalness and empathy.
What are Alinne Prado’s next steps? First of all, I promised my son that I would spend two weeks with him. I spent almost two years on an air shuttle, only staying with him on weekends. My son was amazing to understand that mom was making a revolution.
You talk a lot about representation and social agendas. How important is that not only in your life but also in your work as a journalist? I had a great friend, a twotime Emmy Awardwinning screenwriter named Bruno Lima Penido. On the eve of his death two years ago he called me and said that I left a favela and became a great journalist because I was on a mission to be a social translator. And I keep doing that. Through loving, Afroaffective language, I introduce Brazil to another Brazil, often hurt and made invisible. I show humanity and represent other points of view through respect and inclusion. In a simple way, accessible language and welcoming look.
Are you already talking about this with your child? My son is a beautiful being full of light. At your 5th birthday party, I wanted to do a birthday party. [personagem] “Black Panther” and he said, “No mom, I want a recycling party. Today, at the age of eight, he reads the world with a look that makes me proud and convinces me that I’m on the right track.
You recently changed your appearance. Does this change also mark this new postprogram phase? Yes indeed. The answer is that, like the fox, I am in the cunning phase. A phase that embodies the archetype of the fox, which gives a physical and mental responsiveness that allows you to escape the most difficult situations. This archetype makes you gentler and more lovable like the fox, but also doesn’t hesitate to be smart when the situation calls for it.
