Terrifying images of the powerful earthquake in Taiwan, Asia, continue to be broadcast around the world.

The most recent shows the roof of a gym collapsing on the heads of small children. They were playing badminton when the earthquake hit. In just a few seconds, the tiles on the ceiling collapsed.

Other Taiwanese were terrified at their home on Sunday by the force of the earthquake. Pictures posted on social media show the ceiling light fixture and paintings shaking around the apartment.

The magnitude of the earthquake was rated 6.9 by the USGS. The weather agency has also lifted the tsunami warning issued yesterday after the earthquake. Typhoon Nanmadol made its way into Japan on Sunday evening. Authorities are advising residents to seek shelter.
