Authorities are looking to indict three men in the 2012 murder of boxing legend Hector “Macho” Camacho.

At least three men under federal arrest will reportedly be charged with the 2012 murder of Puerto Rican boxing legend Hector “Macho” Camacho.

A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed to that the defendants were extradited from the US mainland to a Caribbean island on Tuesday.

All three suspects will appear in court on Wednesday.

El Nuevo Día and Univision Tele Once identified the two defendants as Jesus Naranjo and Joshua Mendez. The name of the third suspect is unknown.

Camacho was shot in the face while sitting in a car in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on November 20, 2012, and died four days later in a San Juan hospital after being taken off life support.

Three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of Camacho and his childhood friend Adrian Mojica were extradited to the Caribbean island on Tuesday. The tri-division champion was sitting on the passenger side of a parked car driven by his childhood friend Adrian Mojica when they were both shot at. Mojica was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Mojica was the intended target of the assailants, who were hired to steal several kilos of cocaine from his car and also kill him.

Naranjo and Mendez were taken into custody by the authorities a few days after the murder.

They were allegedly seen riding in a car that was seen near the scene of the shooting.

The Bayamón District Attorney’s office did not file charges against the men, El Vocero reported, because the witness refused to cooperate and moved from the Caribbean island to Maryland.

Now, however, a witness has stepped forward to help solve Camacho’s murder, a law enforcement agent told .

In August 2017, Naranjo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the July 2016 kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend and her son.

Mendez has been under federal arrest since January 2018 on drug and arms trafficking charges.
