The Colorado Avalanche shared some bad news with the team’s fans ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.
According to Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar, the star defenseman will not participate in the game due to a lower-body injury.

Full-back Sam Malinski will take his place in the squad against Los Angeles.
As a reminder, Makar left Saturday’s confrontation in the final minutes of the third period against the Anaheim Ducks. He also did not take part in the extra time between the two teams. The game ended in a shootout victory for the Ducks.
This season, Makar has seven goals and 27 assists for 34 points in 23 games.
