Average sex Fans point out Drakes references to Rihanna

“Average sex ?! Fans point out Drake’s references to Rihanna in new song, and lyrics spark criticism

This Friday (6), Drake released his eighth studio album “For All The Dogs”, and it didn’t take long for the work to cause a stir on social media. Fans noticed the rapper’s alleged “dip” on Rihanna, with whom he had a discreet romance in 2016.

The alleged mention of RiRi appears in the track “Fear of Heights,” in which the Canadian appears to criticize both the singer and her current partner, fellow rapper A$AP Rocky. “Why do you give the impression that I’m still attached to you? / This could never happen / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better not be me,” Drake sings.

He continues, apparently referencing Rihanna’s “ANTI” album, a project Drake was even involved in, and the song “Sex With Me”: “I’m anti, I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average.” with you / Yeah, I’m against it ’cause I’ve had it with you / And I’ve had way worse bitches than you.”

He further states that he has been with women whose beauty is beyond belief and that his ex’s new husband is “trapped” in the current relationship. Listen below:

The excerpt soon resonated with Internet users and the Canadian’s fans, who were not sparing in their criticism of the singer. “Drake is still upset about Rihanna leaving him like it’s a bad habit,” one Twitter user pointed out. “Rihanna hasn’t released anything in so long and she still deserves more than the crybaby (…) I miss the old Drake,” one fan pointed out. “Drake owes Rihanna a thank you for half his career,” said another, remembering to the hit series that the two published together.

“Rihanna is happy and busy being a billionaire with her family. Why doesn’t Drake leave her alone?” one netizen asked. Another person tweeted: “Drake rapping about Rihanna in 2023 and sounding as grown up as he did in 2013 is as disappointing as it is predictable.”

“Rihanna was truly the greatest achievement of Drake’s life because he still mentions Rihanna to this day after more than five years of their relationship ending,” another said. See more reactions below:

After the incident, Page Six contacted the Canadian rapper’s team and asked if he was actually referring to Rihanna. However, Drake’s representatives declined to comment on the matter. Rihanna’s team did not respond to questions about the situation. Rihanna gave birth to her second child with A$AP Rocky in August this year. The couple already had little Rza, 1 year old.

This Friday morning (6), the voice of “Hotline Bling” ignored the “fear of heights” controversy during an interview. Instead of commenting on the track, Drake announced that he was taking a career break. “I probably won’t be doing music again for a while,” he announced on SiriusXM’s “Table for One.” The rapper said he had health problems, stomach pains, and that he should take a break for about a year.
