Shaun Ryder’s son is one of the new faces on Teen First Dates and is hoping for romance after being picked for dinner by the experts.
The Happy Monday star’s offspring, whose name has not been revealed, appeared to have hoped to use his father’s star power as an instigator, but unfortunately failed.
He admitted he was proud to reveal his father by name, but his clueless male date admitted he had never heard of the Manchester-born star.
A clip from the date shared on the First Dates Instagram page shows him saying: “I’m doing the Bane Drop.” Have you heard of a band called Happy Mondays?
His confused date shook his head and admitted he didn’t know who he was.

Shaun’s son tried to explain further, adding: “So my biological father is Shaun Ryder, who is the lead singer of Happy Mondays.”
“I don’t know if you know him from I’m A Celeb, he came second years ago. However, Queen Stacey won, as she should.’
His date answers awkwardly: “You really opened up there, but I don’t know who that is.”
However, he took it positively and explained that his father had been in a pretty frightening situation before.
Explains: “This makes me so happy.” Because I was with a man and we kissed passionately.
“He pulls away from the kiss and says, ‘Wow, you really look like your dad!’ And then he pulls away and I thought, ‘So we’re not going to do that.’
Shaun first came to prominence in the 80s with his band The Happy Mondays, alongside his late brother Paul and their friends Mark Day, Paul Davis and Gary Whelan. His friend and bandmate Bez later joined the band as a percussionist.
In addition to his singing career, Shaun has also had successful appearances on reality television.

He was also the lead singer of another band, Black Grape, in the 90s and has since amassed a fortune of more than £2.5 million, according to reports.
Shaun has been married to his wife Joanna since 2010 and they have two children together, Pearl and Lulu.
During Lulu’s christening, they had a surprise wedding, which turned out to be a double celebration at a courthouse in Worsley.
Shaun has four other children from previous relationships, including his son who appeared on First Dates.
