Ayda Field reveals she uses crutches and has to shuffle down the stairs after the PRP injection

Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field has revealed she’s on crutches after injuring her hip and can’t even walk up and down the stairs at her home – but claims she’s concerned about the matter while she tries to recover.

The former X Factor judge and model, 43, revealed she is currently shuffling down the stairs at her home in LA following a PRP injection on her hip.

She shared footage of herself trying to scale the spiral staircase at the £4.9million villa she and Robbie share with their children on Thursday on Instagram, saying: “It won’t stop me!”

Ayda, who tried to smile and put on a brave face while keeping her left leg straight during the trial, then gathered a pair of crutches, which she used to walk to her door and head outside to her car.

Copying her friend and changemaker Elsa Marie Collins, she wrote on her Instagram page, “A PRP on my hip and a bad hair day won’t stop me… this is for you @elsamariecollins #crutchlife #badhairday # cantstopwontstop #mindovermatter AWxx (None Worry I’ll get rid of these crutches soon!’

Ayda also sped up footage of her attempt to move things forward, playing the subject of the Benny Hill show Yakety Sax as she tried to see the funny side of her predicament.

What are PRP injections?

– Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections “use a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area,” according to Hopkinsmedicine.org

– The treatment lasts between six and nine months

– It treats a variety of conditions including hair loss and joint pain

– Side effects are extremely rare

Fans and followers were concerned as Hermes fashion executive Michael Coste told Ayda: “Bravo! You take care.’

Ayda replied with a smile, “Nothing a glass of champagne wouldn’t fix.”

Ayda’s fitness expert Brandon Volz added: “I hope the PRP helps your hip! You’ve been dealing with this for so long :(‘

Another said: “Uh oh nooooooo Ayda please be gentle with yourself and get well soon. Healing vibrations.’

Others praised Ayda for her positivity and urged her to take time for her recovery, while someone else asked, “Is PRP in the hip the same as a steroid injection in the hip? I had a lot of them and now I have 2 metal hips, I feel your pain, take care.’

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma Injection, a form of regenerative therapy.

They help you treat pain in tendons, ligaments, muscles and other injuries.

The injection uses your body’s healing properties in the blood to treat pain and stimulate healing.

According to sources, sixty-seven percent (24/36) of patients reported greater than 50 percent pain relief at three months; Fifty-eight percent (21/36) reported a greater than 50 percent improvement in pain at six months.

The treatment is believed to cost £1,000 privately.

It comes after Ayda said working mums aren’t treated fairly – and claimed husband Robbie Williams is never asked if he feels ‘guilty’ for leaving his children to work.

Speaking on her podcast, Postcards From the Edge, she said: “It’s interesting, it’s the same voice going on in my head – you used the word ‘selfish’, this mama has to be ‘selfish’ to get her job done .

“It’s interesting that I see Rob going off to do his job and I don’t think he ever sees that as selfish.

“And as women, it’s interesting – and I don’t know if that’s because of what we inherited culturally from our mothers and their mothers and society and what’s expected of us – how we feel guilty about pursuing something that belongs to us .

“Or it feels like it’s at the behest of our kids or that wanting those things is wrong because it’s selfish — that judgment we use.”

“It’s that thing where you judge yourself and find yourself selfish at times, and that voice that you have to fight. Whereas I look at Rob and I picture a lot of men and they don’t think it’s selfish.

‘Why are we doing this? Why is it suddenly becoming selfish?’

Field married the 48-year-old singer in 2010. They raise children Theodora, ten, Charlton, eight, Colette, four, and Beau, three.

The model and actress said she doesn’t think Williams was ever asked if he felt “guilty” about leaving his kids to work.

She added, “I’ve been to his interviews and I’ve never heard anyone say, ‘Do you feel guilty about being away from the kids?’ Street?”
