Babcock’s hours in Columbus counted?

Mike Babcock’s hours behind the Columbus Blue Jackets bench may be numbered, according to Darren Dreger.

The informant was a guest on TSN1050’s “First Up” Friday morning to comment on the case.

“I personally believe today is a pivotal moment for Babcock,” Dreger said.

The National Hockey League and players’ association met Friday morning to discuss various issues, including Babcock’s.

Players’ union executive director Marty Walsh and his deputy Ron Hainsey met with Blue Jackets players Thursday to get their side of the story.

“Based on information that has come to light in the last 48 hours, I believe there is a possibility that Babcock’s job is at stake. “I’m not reporting or predicting that it will happen, but I am mentioning the possibility,” Dreger said on TSN1050.

Recall that the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast revealed on Tuesday that Babcock delved into his players’ personal lives.

According to the coach, the story reported by Paul Bissonnette in the podcast is simply false.

“When I met our players and staff, I asked to show me photos of their families on their phones to get to know them. “There was no other goal behind this initiative,” the pilot said.
