Twenty-one years after the surprise hit of her comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding and seven years after its somewhat disappointing sequel, Canadian actress Nia Vardalos steps into the role of a young woman of Greek descent for the third time in love with an American teacher (played by John Corbett). In this new film, the couple travel to Greece for a family reunion.
Mystery in Venice

Following Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Death on the Nile (2022), actor-director Kenneth Branagh revisits the work of Agatha Christie by bringing the 1969 novel The Pumpkin Festival to the screen brings. In “Mystery in Venice”. Famed detective Hercule Poirot (still played by Branagh) must investigate a murder committed during a séance in what appears to be a haunted ancient palace in Venice.

Sylvester Stallone and his squad of muscular veterans return to the service in this fourth installment in the Expendables saga, which was a smash hit at the box office in the early 2010s. Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture are adventures in this new film from yesteryear, alongside new characters, notably interpreted by Megan Fox and rapper 50 Cent.
Decadence X

Horror movie fans must be eagerly awaiting the release of this tenth installment in the 2004 horror saga created by director James Wan. According to the synopsis provided by Lionsgate Studios, the plot of the new film will take place between the events of Decadence 1 and 2, in which serial killer John Kramer (Tobin Bell) travels to Mexico in search of a cure for his cancer. It is Kevin Greutert (Decadence 4) who signs the realization of the new work.
PAW Patrol: Super Patrol

Two years after the release of the first film, which grossed nearly $150 million at the global box office, the famous Paw Patrol returns to cinemas in a second animated feature film following the hit TV series. Directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver, Les Affranchis), this western premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last May and will hit theaters in early October before releasing a few weeks later on the Apple TV+ platform. The American Note follows Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, two of the famous American filmmaker’s favorite actors, and follows the FBI’s investigation into the murders of several members of the Native American tribe. of the Osages, Oklahoma, in the 1920s.

At 90, American actress Ellen Burstyn reprises her iconic role as Chris MacNeil in this new sequel to The Exorcist, a cult horror film directed by the late filmmaker William Friedkin and released exactly 50 years ago. In this new chapter, directed by David Gordon Green (who also signed the final trilogy of the Halloween saga), Chris MacNeil will relive the old nightmare she once shared with her daughter while trying to father two young girls help who were possessed by a demonic being.
Dune: part two

This second part of the diptych, directed by Quebecer Denis Villeneuve, is one of the most anticipated films of the year and promises to be terrific, judging by the spectacular trailer unveiled earlier this summer. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and Josh Brolin have made a special return in this sequel to the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel. Released in fall 2021, the first film in the saga has grossed more than $400 million at the global box office and also won six Oscars.

Twenty years after the release of the comedy Adrift, filmmaker Alexander Payne has teamed up with actor Paul Giamatti for this new film, which premieres at the Toronto Film Festival next month. Giamatti plays an unloved teacher at a New England prep school who must spend his Christmas break babysitting the students left behind on campus.

Taika Waititi, director of the charming Jojo Rabbit, delves into the world of football in this comedy inspired by the true story of the American Samoa side that were beaten 31-0 in the 2002 World Cup qualifier. Michael Fassbender embodies the coach who will have the mission to get the team back on track after that humiliating defeat. Next Goal Wins will have its world premiere in Toronto in early September.

In 2007, filmmaker Eli Roth delighted fans of slashers (a horror subgenre) by making the trailer for Thanksgiving, a fake movie about a serial killer rampant during the Thanksgiving holiday. Sixteen years later, this fake trailer for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse project was made into a real-life feature film starring Patrick Dempsey and Gina Gershon.

The 48-year-old actor, who won an Oscar for his role in ‘Joker’ three years ago, lends his features to Napoleon, while Vanessa Kirby will step into the shoes of his first wife Josephine.

Acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann (“Heat, Collateral”) returns to cinemas in this biographical drama that follows the life of Enzo Ferrari, the famous Italian racing driver who founded Scuderia Ferrari. It is Adam Driver who puts his face to Ferrari, surrounded in particular by Penélope Cruz, Patrick Dempsey and Shailene Woodley.

Almost 40 years after the release of its first film adaptation, directed by Steven Spielberg, Alice Walker’s novel offers a new version based on the musical of the same name, which has been a Broadway hit for many years. The Color Purple tells the story of the daily lives of two young African American women fighting racism and domestic violence in the early 1900s. Filmmaker and musician Blitz Bazawule (“Black is King”) directed this musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s work.
