“Three years ago an event happened that made me not know if I would still work and do this job that makes me so happy,” Maripier confided to the microphone of MorinWe leave it at that on WKND 99.5 FM, which made a comeback on an entertainment show Monday morning.
Maripier Morin choked back tears several times while chatting with morning show hosts Patrick Langlois and Vincent Dessureault.
In the segment “The present moment” (which recurs every day at 7:40 am), the young woman explained that she will discuss issues affecting her private life; important issues (like his recovery process and his sobriety) and other lighter ones (like the actions that irritate him about his lover, the actor Jean-Philippe Perras).
On that first radio morning, she made a point of mentioning her major return to the public, to recall her past mistakes and share the sorrow she felt at this resumption of work.
“I became obsessed with what I was going to do with my life and I had to tell myself I was going to do something different,” she admitted, throat tight, speaking of the long time she herself found herself unemployed.
In particular, the young woman addressed people in their cars who may currently be feeling overwhelmed by their lives. “Sometimes you lose hope. Sometimes you make bad decisions and realize you’ve hit rock bottom. I want to say, “It’s not only possible, it’s being done.” You have to believe in life.”

“You overwhelm me with kindness, my heart is full,” Maripier Morin confessed to the many listeners who sent him kind messages during his great radio season.
She was very comfortable in her new role as co-host and kept saying that she was very excited, angry and stressed on the big return day. “I was so desperate,” she said.
“I’m next to my body, I don’t know how I feel,” she added, asking viewers to send her their comments. Which they did in large numbers. The trio explained that text messages were showered with positive reviews throughout the show, which aired from 6am to 9am.
She also revealed that when she got the call from WKND bosses a few months ago, she “didn’t believe it” and felt like dropping everything just before the show started.
“I recognize and recognize the happiness that I have,” added Margot’s mum, crying, helped by her good friend Patrick Langlois, with whom the chemistry is also palpable.
Odd Fact: One of the pre-recorded messages during the show mentioned “WKND 99.5 FM, the only station that had the audacity to… hire Patrick Langlois!”. A nod to the chain, which is the first to hire Maripier Morin after the scandal surrounding allegations of sexual misconduct and racism forced her to put her career on hold in July 2020.
