Austria is still a “blank spot” on the international map of Bandidos MC.
Bandidos MC motorcycle club was founded in 1966 by Vietnam War veterans in Houston, Texas. Since then the club has experienced strong expansion and is now internationally active. With its national associations (chapters) in over 30 countries and numerous supporting clubs (fans), Bandidos MC is one of the most powerful clubs in the biker gang world.
Following the presidency of founder Donald Eugene Chambers, Ronald Jerome “Ronnie” Hodge took over and directed the club’s expansion. In 1989, the first step towards Europe was taken with a chapter in Marseille, France. In the following years Bandidos MC expanded to Scandinavia and in 1997 to Luxembourg. In 2000, the first chapter was founded in Italy. Germany was represented in 1999 by the union of the yellow Ghostrider’s MC, as well as the Road Eagle MC Nomads and Destroyers Munich to the Bandidos MC. In the years that followed, another 17 local German chapters joined. After a trial period of just over half a year, the German Bandidos MC officially received the “Germany” logo in June 2000. As of March 2012, 71 chapters were known to the police in Germany. Currently, 56 chapters in Germany are mentioned on the Bandidos homepage, including the banned ones.
Although there have already been several attempts to settle in Austria, the Alpine republic is still more or less a blank spot on the map. There is currently no official Bandidos MC chapter in Austria.
Bandidos MC are active in several countries around the world. National associations (chapters) include Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Thailand, Ukraine, USA and UAE. Each of these national associations has its own local associations and members that represent the Bandidos MC presence in their respective regions.
