A Bangladeshi teenager was accidentally shipped to Malaysia after a game of hide-and-seek went horribly wrong.

The 15-year-old boy, identified only by his first name Fahim, was reportedly playing the game with his friends at Chittagong port in Bangladesh on January 12 when he decided to hide in a shipping container.

Fahim was accidentally locked in the container and loaded onto a merchant ship bound for Malaysia. He reportedly remained in the container with no access to food or water throughout the journey, which lasted between five and six days.

As soon as the ship reached Klang port in Malaysia on January 17, Fahim yelled for help until he was finally spotted by Klang port authorities.

Fahim appeared dazed and confused when he finally emerged from the container, as shown in a video posted to Reddit and shared on social media.

The boy, seen on a stretcher in the video, was taken to a hospital in Kelang for treatment for a fever.

Initial fears of human trafficking were allayed after investigations found no evidence, Malaysia’s Interior Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed.

According to Ismail, investigators determined that Fahim simply entered the container, fell asleep and was shipped to Malaysia.

“The process of him being sent home [repatriated] was done legally,” Ismail told the local press.
