Barbie: Margot Robbie’s film beats Batman and Harry Potter to break impressive record

The feature film hits Brazilian cinemas on July 20.

Although Barbie has not yet had a debut, she has appeared in great feats. This week Warner Bros. announced that the film, starring Margot Robbie, was the company’s biggest presale to date in Brazil, surpassing works with large fan bases such as Batman, Harry Potter and The Matrix.

In addition, website Ingresso.com had already calculated last week that Barbie was consolidated as the largest presale on the platform. A large part of this prelaunch success is due to the feature’s impressive marketing campaign, which even painted Google pink.

Margot Robbie knew there was only one way to make Barbie: “If Mattel hadn’t made that change, I wouldn’t have tried.”

In the storyline signed by Greta Gerwig, all versions of the Mattel doll live in harmony and without worries in Barbieland. But one of them (Robbie) begins to realize that she doesn’t fit in like the others. After being kicked out, she and her trusty companion Ken (Ryan Gosling) are thrust into the real world and must deal with the difficulties of being more than toys.

In addition to the above, Barbie has other famous Hollywood faces in the cast such as Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, Kingsley BenAdir, Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, America Ferrera and Helen Mirren.
